As much as I LOVE the dramatics of Christmas decor I always seem to be ready to box it up and get my home back to “normal”. But now what? In Mn we do not even show signs of spring for months yet. I still want my home to have seasonal decor to add warmth to the cold winter outside. Here are some easy ways to remove Christmas, but keep the beauty of winter.
#1 Santa has got to go!
Remove anything that screams Chirstmas. To me that is Santa, nativities, presents, jingle bells…you get what Im throwing down here! This will instantly declutter your space.
#2 Show off those GREENS
Stripe the tree, garlands, wreaths, and greens down to the bare minumum of greens, berries, and branches. Think woodland winter. Anything that would be in nature can be present now.
# 3 Pincones and Birch
Birch is a hot trend and perfect for this time of year. Add birch poles to large floral pots or stumps around the home. How about adding pincones to bowls, vases, and in glass. I love huge sugar cones around my house!
#4 Winter Wonderland with White
Create a crisp winter wonderland in your home by keeping decor that is snowkissed or flocked, snowmen, and snowflakes. Add additional whites with white pillar candles, throw blankets and pillows, and dishes. To be super trending add some soft greys and mercury glass with your whites.
Bundle up and watch a movie or read a good book and enjoy the beauty of winter.
