So ladies what is the first thing you do when planning your outfits for a get away to a location you have never been? Yes we search “what to wear in (city) “, #fashionsin(city), or pinterest outfit ideas for (city)! I was headed for a friends weekend in the exciting city of Nashville this Summer. Never visiting before I started my search for Nashville looks only to be disappointed that I did not find much. As a manager and buyer of a boutique I am lucky to have lots of clothes at my fingertips so I packed several choices in my bag and flew out to Nash. While experiencing the tastes and sounds of the bustling city I scouted out the fashion scene to share with you so you will know… “What to wear in Nashville”!
Of course you think of Daisy Duke herself when channeling your cute country girl on the town look. I definitely got my fill of shorty shorts, cowgirl boots, and tied crop tops all over the city weather at 10 am or 10 pm. I am in the challenging mid 30’s bracket where I want to still look sexy and fashionable, but not like I am trying to be 20. Right! Like who is with me? Here is what we found for unique Nashville looks that got noticed.
I thought these two cuties nailed a flirty country style while attending the Grand Ol’ Opry! Short dresses in trending shapes and color tones paired with a kimono, boots, and a fringe bag. The cream dress shows off the feminine button up look that is trending in tops and dresses. The blush pink color is THE it color for clothing! If you do not own blush apparel add it to your to do list. These looks are perfect for an afternoon look in Nashville that merges into a wild night on Broadway Street. TIP: Check the weather temps. in the hot Summer nights before you throw on the warm boots ladies.
This classic country girl look took the cake for sweetness. She was turning heads everywhere. On point with the classic gingham plaid red and white skirt in an updated mid length. She added a suble bit of sexy with the white yoke neck tee. Of coarse the boots and red lips were the cherry on top. Bravo doll for Nashville look that was like none other.
Show off those shoulders ladies! An off the shoulder baby doll top paired with skinny jeans is a sultry evening look. We love how she mixed black jeans with brown strappy sandals which tied together the taupe top.
This fun group of ladies were wearing some stylish night out in Nashville looks we saw strolling the bustling streets. Floral short dresses, wide legged rompers (this one was especially darling), high waisted maxi skirts paired with crop tops, and when in doubt a classic white tee and great jeans. Notice all the hues of blues?
We learned very quickly weather it was ladies dancing on open top buses with the music blaring in the mid morning or matching groups of girls arm linked with one sporting a sash that Nashville is the Bachelorette party mecca. Just for fun we counted one evenings outings and got up to 50 groups. If you are planning your girls’ bachelorette party there you better get creative to stand out. Fellow guests are a little “suck for a bucked” out with the crazy number of brides to be and their buddies. Fellers the good news for you is the girl to guy ratio in the city seems to be in your favor. This little sweet bride to be was confidently wearing a classic white lace dress. Loved this dress in general weather you were a bride or not. Congrats!
This sassy diva was rocking this romper and the dance floor at Luke Bryan’s new fabulous venue. Floral rompers are easy to wear and pack. These on trend rompers are perfect for the warm Summer temps. We saw rompers for day outing with low sandals or at nights with heels and big earrings. The wrap front and bell sleeves made this romper especially festive for a night out. I wore an off the shoulder mustard floral romper for a day tour. My darling friend Val is wearing this on trend wooden button up tank with distressed capris.
What I really found out is because there is fun to be had all day and night with a plethora of variety of venues. You could be in a fancy restaurant one minute and next door stop in a musty hole in the wall with the best music on the block. There are women of all ages, sizes, and interpretation of a night out in Nashville. So Im gonna say there are NO RULES on what to wear in Nashville….seriously! We learned the new term NashVegas and they have adopted “what happens in NashVegas stays in NashVegas”! So wear whatever little number you want. If you decide you do not like what you are wearing stop on into one of the hundreds of boutiques that line the streets.
The ONLY rule we did learn is be careful on what shoe you wear as you will do lots of walking and dancing.
Here is Emily (Laney’s mom and owner of Laney Lu’s Boutique) and myself (Laney’s aunt and Laney Lu’s Manager) and what we wore out to represent Mn Best Boutique. We did pretty good for some Ol’ Mn gals.
Peace out Nashville!
