I work with 20 women who are all fashionistas in their own right and take great care of themselves.  Not only do they look amazing, but they put a lot of miles on our 100,000 square foot furniture showroom (which Laney Lu’s is within).  It’s been recorded that on a busy day we log 9-10 miles of walking at work!  With that in mind, I went to work on creating a special Christmas gift for all of them to acknowledge the miles they put on while on the clock!  The following are recipes for Peppermint Vanilla Sugar Foot Scrub and Candy Cane Foot Soak.  They smell amazing and with a little TLC they can be made to be adorable holiday gifts.  Peppermint Foot Scrub

Recipe for Peppermint Vanilla Sugar Foot Scrub

1 C  coconut oil (soften in microwave about 20 seconds)

4 C granulated sugar

4 tsp peppermint extract

2 tsp vanilla

a few drops of red food coloring (or raspberry juice) to get the pinkish red color

Optional: 2 additional cups of white granulated sugar (for the candy cane layering effect).

Mix all of the ingredients together and add more sugar if you want a more coarse mixture, less if you want the reverse.  I doubled this recipe and got about 10 pint size jars filled.  I scooped a layer of the pink scrub in the container, then poured a layer of plain white granulated sugar, then repeated the process until the mixture filled about 3/4 of the jar.

Recipe for Candy Cane Foot Scrub

2 C baking soda

1 C epsom salt

4 tsp peppermint extract

a drop or two of red food coloring (or raspberry juice) to get the pinkish color

Mix all ingredients together and for best results pour and spread out on a flat surface to dry for approximately 20 minutes. Once the mixture has dried out, place into glass jars (the smaller the jars the better).  I could only find pint jars locally, but even smaller would have been ideal.

I stacked the two different jars together, labeled with the ingredients and name of the product.  I thought it would be a nice touch to add ribbon, a little card that said, “For Your Mistletoes” and top if off with bright red nail polish.
